About

Alfred Sillem
"Alfred The Flowerman"

Instruments: Vocals details
Known for his friendly smile, tuxedo and beautiful flowers, Alfred (Arthur) Sillem was a fixture of the city’s downtown for over three decades.
Alfred was a familiar sight to locals and visitors alike, who would stop to admire his colorful bouquets and chat with him about life. He had a reputation for creating unique floral arrangements and was known for his cheerful demeanor and love of conversation.
Alfred was not just a flower seller, but also a community member who cared deeply about the people around him. He would often give flowers to those in need, whether it was a hospital patient or a person experiencing homelessness. Alfred’s legacy will live on in the memories of those who knew him, and in the beautiful flowers (or teddy bears) he brought to Victoria’s streets. His passing is a reminder of the impact that one person can have on a community, and the importance of spreading kindness wherever we go. Source: Victoria Buzz
