About

Gertrude

Label: Urban missfits
Gertrude are a london based diy punk band who have been playing in the underground music scene for 9 years. They combine mutant electric cello, melodica and clarinet with feisty lyrics and energetic prog punk inventiveness. They have a commitment to working collectively and supporting grass roots diy movements. Gertrude have toured in Europe and America and produced several eps and 2 albums. This year they launched their second album "Fetch The Parrot Blanket" ( Urban Missfits 2006) This was self - recorded and produced and in every way a diy learning experience. You can buy Gertrude's latest release from active distribution or cdbaby Up the wrong tree Fetch The Parrot Blanket(2006) Fetch the Parrot Blanket To get hold of Pop Psychology (EP 2000 ) and a split single with a band Servo - try searching rough trade Watch short film from Mad Chicks 2004 click on this You Tube Link, thanks Ted! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nl1xPa24Bfo
