You Are An Explorer is traveling this summer and has the honour to be performing at the historic Railway Club with two amazing local Vancouver post-rock acts.
You Are An Explorer is a three-piece instrumental group from Edmonton, Canada. The trio uses heavy grooves to create melodic, layered soundscapes with clear movement and direction.
Formed in 2013, and releasing their debut EP in March of 2014 as well as two digital singles, Stationary Travels calls their music "... a really enjoyable and fresh take on post-rock which incorporates the atmospherics and slow builds that one expects, but with a preference for solid grooves over the all too common thunderous crescendo."

Since playing their first local Edmonton shows in 2013, You Are An Explorer has played from Winnipeg and back, with numerous stops in Calgary and other Alberta cities, and will be making their first excursion to B.C. this summer.

Started as a fill-in band two weeks before their first gig, the four boys of in contra. quickly put together 4 original songs. They played their first show under the name According to Who in late 2004. Later, the band would change its name to in contra.
A decade later, all of the original members are still with the band. Their long history has allowed them to hone in on their unique style and become a tight-knit wolf-pack.
Having been compared to such bands as Explosions In The Sky, Pink Floyd, and My Bloody Valentine, in contra. has established a distinctive yet familiar sound. Their songs range from spirited and upbeat to grungy and ominous, which demonstrates each of these young musicians' wide array of talents.
As with every band, the members of in contra. have experienced their fair share of trials and hardships. However, their determination and love for their craft have compelled them to push through the challenges and cast a new vision of what music can be.
